David Bowie - Station To Station Tour

David Bowie - TVC 15
David Bowie - Word On A Wing
David Bowie - The Jean Genie
[Live [March 23, 1976] Nassau Coliseum, New York]

Like Videodrome's Blondie, apparently a television has eaten David Bowie's girl ("TVC-15"). Long live the new flesh! And long live Bowie too it seems. How can this man still be so important and vital after, what, 40 years? Though he was almost consumed by Gotham City's drug scene in the 70's ("The Jean Genie") like all Rock-N-Roll survivors, he eventually finds redemption ("Word On A Wing"). Just watch any "VH1: Behind The Music" and you already know the rise, and fall, and rise again story arc. Only Bowie never strayed too far off course. A consummate artist. This recording shows that even the cavernous Nassau Coliseum can spit out a decent recording if you're talented enough. These performances are taken from the 1976 "Station To Station" tour. A spirited performance from rock's ultimate showman. I can't help but think that like Oscar Wilde's Dorian Grey, somewhere there hangs a portrait of an aging Bowie. This man does not look 57. Maybe it's all the smoking that's kept him young and fresh... Enjoy
