Ahh, yes, Jason. It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without this song. Only the original version works for me as well. The "updated" version just makes me go "feh"

Hey Courtney. Are you referring to the 1995 studio version titled, "Alice's Restaurant (The Massacree Revisited)"? Feh indeed. Why bother? Besides, blogalive showcases exclusively live music so... No "feh" allowed, promise. Thanks for writing.
